SUMMARY
One of Hallmark’s best-selling licenses is the nature-inspired Dutch watercolor artist Marjolein Bastin. To engage to Think. Make. Share. users who weren’t regular Hallmark customers, I focused my interview and articles on her process and perspective as a working artist.
Important note: The opossum story in the first sample is the best thing I’ve ever heard.
My jobs:
— Developed blog post/interview strategy
— Created and vetted questions
— Conducted interview
— Wrote blog post and newsletter
— Collaborated with designers, managing editor
Another note: Think. Make. Share.content is being moved to Ideas.Hallmark.com and currently is not available online.

INSTAGRAM VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
The insecurity is always there. You have to show that you can do it, but you never know it.
There’s always something you look for in a painting and when you’re halfway you think, “Should I throw it away” or “I’m probably too old. I can’t paint anymore.” Go on, girl, go on…and then you work yourself further and further and then suddenly nature comes out and the bird begins to fly and the bumblebee begins to—to bumble?—to zoom and it’s alive suddenly and then you know, “Oh, yeah, it’s there—what I wanted to do.”
I’m sure that this is me and that’s what I want to do for all my life.
