If you’ve ever wanted to see one of my shows…

Delightful Pudding will be a special one.

You’re invited to join us for Delightful Pudding, an improv happening 60 years in the making. Monday night, April 27, at The Westport Bowery, in the back of the Westport Flea Market, I get to play with a bunch of my friends.

THE COUNCIL OF DENISES

Kicking off the night, it’s Ham Kitty—performing as “The Council of Denises,” which is what happens when Minneapolis improviser Jill Bernard joins me, Kate Haugan, Tina Morrison, Ashley Osborn-Garr, and Jen Roser. (Tina says she’s not available, but I’m still in denial.)

As usual, we’ll ask you to bring stupid things to put in our bucket to inspire our scenes. Bonus points if it’s dumb stuff created before the year 2000.

I CAN’T BELEIVE MY BACK YARD USED TO LOOK LIKE THIS.

BROWNIES DON’T LIE

Next up is Brownies Don’t Lie, my duo with Jill. She brought her new form to Improv Springboard this month: Between Jokes, based on a Spanish saying: “Entre broma y broma la verdad se asoma/Between a joke and a joke the truth arises.” It was wholesome and silly and the whole time I was watching (I stage managed the show) I was jealous. So we’re going to depart from our usual Viewpoints-inspired structure and perform Between Jokes.

Brownies Don’t Lie’s appearance makes this show an official part of DOUBLE TROUBLE: KC’s Improv Duo Comedy Festiva, mostly at the bird comedy theater. More news to come about duo jams, workshops, and shows!
asking the audience what sets off their own personal explosive group chats.

explosive group chat

Closing out the evening, Explosive Group Chat will be joined by Jill, her talented husband Eric Heiberg, and KC improv pal Josh Steinmetz. We’ll super-size our usual format, Chair-nado, where we turn an audience suggestion of a group chat topic into a whirlwind of scenes.
